D.R.Harris & Co was established as Harris’s Apothecary in 1790 in the St James district of London. The story begins with the introduction of Lavender water, classic cologne and other English flower scents. These quickly gained popularity among London’s fashionable elite.
Since its foundation, D.R. Haris has remained a family-run business. The company was first awarded a Royal Warrant in 1938 by Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), later by the Prince of Wales, and in 2012 by Queen Elizabeth II. Most recently, it was one of the first companies to be awarded the Royal Warrants from both King Charles III and Queen Camilla. These honours underpin D.R. Harris’s reputation for quality grooming products.
They strive to maintain tradition in modern times. Visit their shop, and you will see the original mahogany cabinetry, Victorian apothecary bottles and old-fashioned drawers evoking a bygone era.
Their range now includes a fine selection of soaps, shaving creams, aftershaves, colognes, and skincare products. All of which appeal to those who appreciate quality and distinction the world over.
DR Harris works hard on minimising their environmental impact. They no longer use cellophane to seal packets, and most of the materials used are recyclable. Glass bottles can be reused, and wooden bowls can be refilled. They also source as many products as possible from the UK, cutting down on delivery miles and supporting British businesses. Most of the packaging is also made here in the UK.
